Gray Mullen – RIP

Absolutely devastated to share the news that Gray Mullen, of the Cannock Spartans passed away on Friday 3 January.

Gray was a lifelong Spartans fan who loyally followed the club home and away, through the good times and the bad.

A Cannock native whose family originated from Blyth, Gray spent countless hours leading up the Cannock Spartans supporters group for nearly 25 years – organising supporters busses, fundraising for the football club, various charities and assisting the Green Army with various projects.

On top of being a loyal and passionate supporter, Gray was a selfless and loyal friend, on top of being a devoted and hard working family man.

An absolute joy to be around, Gray had a heart of pure gold and always had a smile on his face – that endeared him to everyone he met.

Rest In Peace Gray, you’ll never be forgotten 💚

Before this evening’s game against Ashton United, a minute’s silence will be held to honour Gray’s memory. A flag will also be on display, and flown at half mast.

His funeral will be taking place this morning, where the family will be accepting donations for Andys Man Club, a mental health charity that operates nationwide.

Donation buckets will be placed at both entrances and in the clubhouse prior to tonight’s match, for those wishing to help contribute to the funeral collection.
