We’re pleased to announce that we will expanding upon the work we’ve already done to help the Blyth Foodbank and it’s brilliant set of volunteers once again next season.
Throughout next season, we will be hosting monthly foodbank collections at Croft Park, starting with our friendly game against neighbours Blyth Town on Saturday 6th July. In the 2 years we’ve been helping the foodbank collect donations, your contributions have been truly prenominal and really helped a lot of people in our local community that are enduring some hardships.
With the summer holidays coming up, dependency of foodbanks usually increases for a variety of reasons. With that in mind, we thought the town’s two main teams coming together for a pre-season fixture would be a great opportunity for the local football community to come together and help out some of the people in our local area who are most vulnerable.
Throughout the 2024/25 season, as well as foodbank collections, we’ll also be bringing back the much loved meat draw! Having been requested for a while, this will be done after games with the winner getting a voucher Shy’s. All proceeds from the meat draw from this will be donated to Blyth Foodbank.
